RWB’S DG MAKES A TECHNICAL VISIT TO THE MUHAZI DYKE

1st December 2021 - The Director-General of the Rwanda Water Resources Board (RWB) , Prime Ngabonziza, together with his technical team have made a technical field visit to assess the implementation progress of the ongoing construction of the new Muhazi dyke.

The Director-General has also assessed the works underway in Muhaze Dyke Project and held discussions with China Geo Engineering Corporation, which has been contracted to build the new dyke that will replace the existing one.

The dyke construction is expected to be completed in January 2022 with 7.5m height, 7 m crest width, 125m crest length for conservation of water in Muhazi lake and protecting the downstream part from flooding.

Muhazi Lake is fed by 870 km² watershed and spans over around 38 km.
