RWB hosts workshop on Exit and Sustainability strategy for  EWRM Project

21st July 2023: Rwanda Water Resources Board (RWB), Director General, Dr Emmanuel Drukundo presided over  a workshop attended by different partners to review the draft report of Exit and Sustainability Strategy (ESS)for “Sebeya Landscape Restoration Pilot Project “and “Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM)” Program, all funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

This Exit and Sustainability Strategy aims at strategizing the maintenance of all activities implemented through Embedding Integrated Water Resources Management Program (EWRM) in Ngororero, Nyabihu, Rutsiro and Rubavu District.

EWRM project was launched in 2019 with a mission of  improving Sebeya catchment management contributing to increased resilience of communities and landscapes to the impacts of climate change and other drivers.

Among the results of "Sebeya Landscape Restoration" and "Integrated Water Resources Management" Program are progressive terraces to fight soil erosion, afforestation, Sebeya lateral dykes, Bukeri diversion channel, and Sebeya retention dam.

This project was implemented by Rwanda Water Resources Board (RWB) in partnership with The Kingdom of Netherlands, IUCN, SNV and RWARRI.
