KWIBUKA 30: RWB STAFF commemorates the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi
10th May 2024: The Rwanda Water Resources Board management and staff together with other institutions located in the Nyarugenge Pension Plaza Building marked the 30th commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
This ceremony took place at the Kigali Genocide Memorial, preceded by the memorial tour to better understand how the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi was planned and implemented as well as the journey of rebuilding the nation and resilience of the survivors.
Following the tour, the Ministers, Director Generals and all staff laid wreaths on the graves to honor the life of victims who perished in the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
The Representative of IBUKA Mr. NIYITANGA Irenée urged all staff to use their power wisely, to stand firm in their commitment to combating genocide ideology in all its forms, and to be unwavering in their dedication to building a future where such atrocities can never happen again.
Minister of Environment, Dr Mujawamariya Jean D’Arc, who was the guest of honor, emphasized the importance of unity among Rwandans, regardless of their backgrounds, to build a cohesive and prosperous nation. She encouraged all staff to embrace diversity, promote dialogue, and work together towards common goals.
