24th June 2022: Water resources sector stakeholders have joined the hybrid validation meeting for the 1st interim report for the 'Consultancy Services for Integrated Strategic Water Resources Planning and Management for Rwanda.'

The ‘Integrated Strategic Water Resources Planning and Management for Rwanda’ consultancy project will assess and evaluate the availability and vulnerability of Rwanda’s water resources towards 2050 taking into consideration climate change.

" The Rwanda Water Resources Board (RWB)  has highly appreciated the Rwanda Green Fund (FONERWA) and World Bank for the financial support in the water resources sector, especially on this project which we call “Water Security for All,” says RWB's DG Dr. Emmanuel Rukundo.

Rwanda recently published its “Vision 2050” which sets out the national long-term development strategy, stating new objectives for urbanization, energy production, irrigation, and water resources development. 

Hence, RWB  in collaboration with FONERWA with financial support from the World Bank undertakes the consultancy dubbed 'Integrated Strategic Water Resources Planning and Management for Rwanda', which is conducted by Future Water together with the local partner ENTREM Ltd.

The consultants provide support related to the development of integrated strategic water resources plans and management guidelines in order to meet the targets set out in the long-term policies.
